Duplicate Pan Card
PAN means permanent account number, for any India citizen it’s more important than any type of credit card or ATM card. This gives you the right to open up new accounts and can be used for number of reasons like for a new land line phone.
What will you do if you loose it?
Option 1: You will go for duplicate one, yes its mandatory for any type of financial transaction with government or non government authorities. For this you can go to concerned government office. There you will get number of question or rude behavior. For that there are the two designated bodies of the government on whose websites that are dealing with all the matters regarding the PAN cards, you can visit these websites. These two bodies are UTIISL and other is NSDL. The other easy way is to contact with a broker who is authorized by the government or can go to agency such as www.PanCardNri.com.
Option 2: you will go to any authorized dealer or authorities. Its better but can take few important days of your life and can be cheated.
Option 3: you will go to websites like this, where you can do this by only one click and filling some basic information.
I think you will go for option three, reason for that is save time and feel free. On the webpage of these sites you will get two buttons one is for applying new PAN card and the other one is for applying duplicate PAN card and you have to push the latter. The form (49A) is to be filled over there for applying for the duplicate PAN card as it was filled in case of original PAN card. You have to enter the same details as entered previously.
What we need to do, if forgot PAN?
Lodge FIR to the police station of your area and receive the copy of that FIR. This FIR can be used for further future references.
For NRI, the duplicate PAN card can be applied by online way by process as described above. For that he/she need to pay Rs. 717.00 by credit card.
The delivery of the PAN card will be at the door steps in the foreign country within a single day and hence the extra charge is being taken.
